Looking for new lighting fixtures, faucets or other home improvement items? I've used both these sites and really saved. They've got great customer service and an extensive inventory.
Lightingdirect.com This Westinghouse flushmount retailed for almost $50 at a local lighting retailer. I bought one there to ensure the style was right, but got three more for $29 ea. at lightingdirect.com
Faucetdirect.com A Kohlor Memoirs series bathroom faucet that retails for $304.28 at a home improvement chain is $272.94 at faucetdirect.com. Orders over $99 ship free.
For ceiling fan savings on Hunter and others (Minka, Fanimation, and Broan Ceiling & Bath Fans) go to the Value Brothers eBay store. It's owned by a former Memphian who was an early entrepreneur on the e-tailing front. You can bid or "buy it now" on most items. The best part for shopping Hunter fans is Value Brothers includes dimension drawings that aren't available on the Hunter site.

And so it begins...
another blog...another source of information overload and a distraction from your responsibilities.
How will I keep it interesting? I'm going to limit my blog to product info I think most women are interested in. I'll throw in the occasional movie critique or helpful hint (Aunt Heloise for Gen X, Y...), but don't look for my philosophy on life. Who cares, right? It's all about that great deal on Bluefly.com, the eye cream that really works, a canned soup that can fool your supper guests...
Today's product endorsements:
- Repairwear Day SPF 15 Intensive Cream Very Dry Skin Formula This has a lot of moisture for "mature" skin and the sun protection we all need. I've been using Eucerin Extra Protective Moisture Lotion SPF 30, but it wasn't giving me that punch of moisture I really need now. It's a good alternative if your skin isn't super dry or when you're working out.
- Regenerist Anti-aging lip treatment Although it's a drugstore brand, it's not cheap, but it does work! It gives your lips a bit of a tingle and plumps them up. (At most Kroger's, but not Mendenhall in Memphis).
- Here's something you might not know. The Cole Haan web site always has a lot on sale. While most of it is still pricey, there are some good deals. This "small" Village Collection black tote is a great staple, and it's not really that small. Check out their classic pumps too. They're not going out of style.
